In 1949, Meiji Shipping was listed in Tokyo Stock Exchange's First Section. Today with over 3,000 companies, being listed in-itself is no major issue but back in those days, Meiji was one of just 290 companies, and more importantly, one of only 18 shipping companies. Now with only 11 shipping companies we are proud to have survived throughout, to have never been delisted and to hold a comfortable position amongst several major players.
