Emergency Response Exercise

On September 29, 2025, we, Meiji Shipping Group Co., Ltd., carried out an Emergency Response Exercise focused on Media Response, simulating a major maritime accident involving one of our owned vessels.

This exercise, led primarily by the shipowning division, is part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen our emergency communication capabilities and establish our internal information gathering and reporting systems in the event of a serious incident. The scenario involved a bulk carrier owned by our group company running aground within Japanese territorial waters, resulting in a large-scale fuel oil spill. The exercise included a workshop led by a risk management consulting company, a review of internal communication protocols, and a mock press conference.

Through the insights and experience gained from this training, we aim to further reinforce our group-wide crisis management framework and continue enhancing the stability and resilience of our corporate management.
